CORPexit: The Process by Aoibhinn Ni Cheallachain

Our author shares the article about her writing and publishing experience.
“As I watched the pieces of a life lived for 30 years disintegrate unceremoniously in a matter of weeks following a decision to leave Corporate life, writing became my saviour, the pillow into which I wailed as I let my former life go. Rather than bore my partner with the slew of emotional debris that accumulates during any significant deconstruction, I would pore my feelings and observations onto the page of my trusty LibreOffice word processor (an equally effective, free alternative to Word). As the months went by with my unedited writing, themes started to appear as I poked questions at the tangle of words trying to squeeze some existential meaning from the dirt road I had taken in a bid to slow down and figure out where I would go life-wise from here.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Aoibhinn Ni Cheallachain (wife, mother, carer) wrote Corpexit on quitting the increasing toxicity of a 30 year Corporate career (her last role as Global Head of Technology at a U.S. multinational). Exiting her work network, and a six figure salary to beat a path into the unknown (much to the horror of her teen children), she bears all about the high and lows of her journey. Poking pertinent questions at Corporate cultures that continue to broaden profit margins at the expense of the worker & how we can choose to exercise choice in the work we do. She guides the reader through a series of challenges, aimed squarely at unveiling the soul’s path to freedom.

Aoibhinn has started working on her next book while materialising a new wellness venture. She continues to pay it forward by volunteering at the National Maternity Hospital as a member of the Reiki Federation of Ireland.

‘Life is too precious to continue doing meaningless Corporate jobs that contribute nothing to society. Make your days count and most importantly do whatever it takes to find your joy’
